The peculiarities of sound insulation
Just like water, sound waves follow the course with the lowest resistance. In case of any flaws (leakages) in surrounding constructing materials even the best partition will not provide good insulation characteristics.
Low quality materials, standard solutions a swell as lack of professionalism in the process of partitions installation will cause the leakage of sound.
The presence of sound bridges is possible even if the construction materials’ quality is very high. Straight ducting for heater, ventilation and conditioning systems located between the rooms, public entrance halls and corridors as well as open ventilation cameras above suspended ceilings are the ways of sound leakage. The material, which the suspended ceiling is made of, has a pore structure that prevents reverberation and lets sound waves to flow through.
Uneven floors, non-vertical walls and built-in lighting blocks, detachable panels, projection and lighting cabins, as well as other elements also promote sound leakages.
The materials used in construction and finishing can either absorb or reflect sound waves. In the ideal situation materials combine those qualities.
