NAYADA participated in the Acoustic Workshop in St. Petersburg.

19 / 08 / 2014

The NAYADA Company participated in Acoustic Workshop, held in the Benoit House Center in St. Petersburg. Designers and architects attended this event, which focused on acoustics in public spaces.

Offices, libraries, schools, museums – are places where we sometimes have to perform focused and solitary work. Often it is very difficult to do this, because of... noise – discussions of colleagues, noises made by engineering equipment or printers, the clicking of heels, phones ringing and other ruckus.

Participants of the workshop talked about ways to eliminate unnecessary noises. Several companies developed this theme from different perspectives. Andrey Voevodin, Head of NAYADA-Acoustics, presented an entire course in acoustics and soundproofing of premises, including recommendations on the use of sound-absorbing materials.

The speaker talked about solutions to eliminate unwanted noise by using partitions, doors, as well as wall and ceiling panels produced by NAYADA.

Thus, one of the innovative solutions for space design is 3D panels. These not only have a decorative function, but also act as a diffuser – the panels scatter sound, reducing its intensity and reverberation time.

“Deaf” partitions also present a path to acoustic comfort. The advantage offered by these partitions is that any absorbing material can be placed in the space between the panels. The ribbed surface of the panels dissipates sound, which leads to reduced reverberation. Transformable partitions can also achieve soundproofing similar to main walls.

An accent was also made on perforated panels, which are almost the only correct solution to be used for reducing reverberation in classrooms, assembly and concert halls.

In a friendly conversation format, methods were proposed to solve such acoustic problems as noises from engineering equipment, echoes, hubbub (phones, talking, coffee-machines, and printers), sounds of speakers in conference rooms and offices.

We would like to thank all the participants and organizers – the Martela Company.
